Frank Seiji Sanda
Founder and CEO

Before founding Japan Communications Inc. in 1996, Frank Sanda served as CEO of Apple Computer Japan and Vice President and General Manager at Motorola Inc. Sanda has extensive experience in finance, having filled senior officer positions at Citibank and Merrill Lynch in the United States. He also spent 12 years working in the railroad industry in both Canada and the United States. An engineer by trade, Dr. Sanda holds a Ph.D., and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.

Naohisa Fukuda
Chief Operating Officer
Representative Senior Managing Director

A member of the Board of Directors since 2004, Naohisa Fukuda joined JCI as a Senior Vice President of Marketing in 2002.
Most recently Mr. Fukuda served as VP of Marketing at Apple Computer Inc. in California. He has also held various management positions at Apple Computer Japan, including Director of Business Operations and Director of Marketing. Mr. Fukuda has entrepreneurial experience, having started his own company while a student at the University of Tokyo. He holds an MBA from Dartmouth College.

Jun Tajima
Member of Board of Directors

A member of the Board of Directors since 2008, Jun Tajima joined JCI on April 1, 2006, and was appointed to the Management Board. Jun Tajima has more than twenty-five years of experience in a wide range of business lines in senior positions with Nippon Telegraph and Telephone (NTT), Japan’s largest telecommunication operator in Japan, and NTT DoCoMo, Japan’s largest cellular operator. His focus included mobile handset and network equipment R&D, and international standardization of second and third generation cellular systems. He was also engaged in international business for more than ten years, including investments in mobile carriers and associated businesses. Most recently, he was the Managing Director of Global Network Development at NTT DoCoMo. He has a Ph.D. and Masters and Bachelor degrees in engineering from Keio University.

Yasushi Kudo
Senior Vice President

Yasushi Kudo joined JCI as a Vice President in 1996.
During the start-up stage he was responsible, as needed, for carrier relations, customer support, IT and system development. From 1999, he also served as President and COO of Computer and Communication Technologies, Inc., JCI's subsidiary in Colorado, USA, and worked to further expand the capabilities of the billing system used to process JCI data. Since 2002, his assignment has further expanded toward network management. Prior to joining JCI, he served as national service manager of cellular subscriber products at Nippon Motorola Ltd. for six years, and before that as a broadcast equipment field engineer at NEC for ten years.

Marc Winn
Vice President
CEO, Communications Security and Compliance Technologies, Inc. (CSCT)

Marc Winn joined CCT Inc., a JCI Group company, in 2005. Prior to joining CCT, Marc served for 16 years in executive management roles at technology companies ranging in maturity from start-up to Fortune 100, whether engaged in a public equity offering or acquisition. His focus on security and regulatory compliance along with his experience in e-commerce and systems management has included senior positions at Intrusec, Harbinger, Xcellenet, Stonesoft, and several early stage companies in which he was an angel investor. Before his tenure in technology, Marc worked in the financial services industry with Merrill Lynch and Oppenheimer & Co. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from The University of the South.

Akihiko Sawa
Vice President and Treasurer

Akihikio Sawa, a Waseda University graduate, gained communication equipment industry experience at Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. before receiving his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He then served as Senior Manager of Product Marketing at Apple Japan, Inc.. Following this, Sawa served as Director of the CEO Office at SAP Japan; as Japan Marketing Division Director for Adobe Systems Inc.; and as Vice President and General Manager of Consumer Business Division for Trend Micro before joining JCI in March 2008. As Vice President with responsibility for Sales, he has overseen all aspects of JCI’s Direct sales, Channel sales and Partner development activities.

Miki Katayama
Vice President
Human Resources and Administration

After graduating from the University of the Sacred Heart, Tokyo, Miki Katayama worked in the Administration Section of the Department of French Literature of Sophia University, Tokyo. Katayama received her Registered Nurse qualification from the National Hospital Organization Tokyo Medical Center (formerly Second National Hospital) School of Nursing in 1992 and served as a registered nurse in St. Luke’s International Hospital, Tokyo from 1992-1996. Joining JCI as Head of the Office of the CEO while the company was still being established, she has been acutely involved in every aspect of JCI’s business. Appointed Assistant Vice President with responsibility for Human Resources and Administration in January 2008, Katayama has overseen the reinvigoration of JCI’s Corporate culture and JCI’s HR strategies. Katayama completed the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business Human Resources Executive Program.

Hiroaki Yokoyama
Vice President
Engineering and Infomation System

Hiroaki Yokoyama started his career in the personal computer business, NEC Corporation in early 1980s. He then served as Director of Consumer Business at Apple Japan. Following this, as CEO, Yokoyama headed Intellution Japan & Korea, a global leader of industrial automation software. In 2001, Yokoyama established his own company, Mobile Computing Technologies, and served as CEO. Before joining JCI in March 2010, Yokoyama successfully expanded the business and managed M&A with Omron Group. As Vice President of Engineering at JCI, Yokoyama plays a critical role being responsible for all software and hardware development. Yokoyama graduated from Shizuoka University, and received his MBA (Master of Science in Management) from the Sloan School at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
