Japan Communications Inc. (hereinafter referred to as "JCI") is pleased to announce the session program for DAY 1 (July 28) of the first FPoS Developers Conference 2026 (FDC2026), to be held over two days — Tuesday, July 28 and Wednesday, July 29, 2026 — at Tokyo International Forum. JCI is also pleased to announce that Thomas Aidan Curran, former CTO of Deutsche Telekom AG and a technologist and leading figure in the field of Sovereign AI, has been confirmed as a special session speaker, following Audrey Tang.
The theme of this conference is: "Restoring ‘Trust’ to Digital." While the social deployment of generative AI is advancing rapidly, serious challenges are intensifying that threaten the very foundations of digital society — including fraud, impersonation, and data breaches. This conference is held as a forum for international discussion on how “Trust” should be redesigned for the AI era.
■ DAY 1 Program Announced — Reexamining “Trust” in the AI era from the Frontlines of Industry, Academia, Government, and Finance
DAY 1 (July 28) will open with a welcome session by Naohisa Fukuda, JCI's Representative Director-President and CEO, followed by a keynote by Audrey Tang, Taiwan’s former Minister of Digital Affairs, a session by Thomas Aidan Curran, and a panel discussion featuring Keisuke Murakami (former Director-General of the Digital Agency) and Jiro Kokuryo (Head of the Digital Co-Innovation Research Center at Kyoai Gakuen University), among others.

■ Speaking on Trust in the AI Era — Thomas Aidan Curran
Thomas Aidan Curran is a technologist with an international presence in AI infrastructure, digital identity, and cybersecurity. He previously served as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and in other senior roles at Deutsche Telekom AG, and is currently based in San Francisco, where he leads AI platform architecture design at Alembic Technologies.
At this conference, under the theme "Sovereign AI Blueprint: Securing the Future of Enterprise AI," he will discuss his design philosophy for next-generation digital infrastructure through Sovereign AI, zero trust, and cryptographic identity — centered on the question: what constitutes a “trustworthy AI foundation” in the AI era.
■ Why "Trust" — and Why Now
Digital technology has permeated every aspect of life and work, and incidents that erode trust — including digital fraud, impersonation, and harassment — are becoming increasingly serious. The reason data linkage has not progressed is also rooted in this lack of trust: the absence of a mechanism for "data linkage between service providers only after explicit consent by the user."
FPoS (Fintech Platform over Security module) is a trust infrastructure for the digital society developed by JCI. Through "hardware-protected private keys" embedded within smartphones and a certificate authority framework, FPoS reliably guarantees both "who the information is from (identity)" and "what the information is (authenticity)," and provides an integrated set of four functions: identity verification, person authentication (login), digital signature, and data linkage. This will transform "inconvenient society where repeated confirmations are required" to "society where natural connection is possible on the premise of Trust."
Furthermore, because FPoS can guarantee the identity and authenticity not only of people but also of physical objects (IoT), JCI plans to begin offering "FPoS IoT," which integrates people and physical objects on a single trust infrastructure. FPoS is currently being adopted across financial institutions including regional banks, local currencies, municipalities, and the medical sector, and is expected to serve as a digital infrastructure supporting the maintenance of essential services in areas experiencing population decline.
■ A Developers Conference Bringing Together Industry, Academia, Government, and Finance
With FPoS entering a phase of full-scale adoption, FDC2026 is a forum that brings together leading speakers from the fields of industry, academia, government, and finance to discuss the path toward "Restoring ‘Trust’ to Digital." We plan to welcome speakers from a wide range of sectors including finance, municipalities, healthcare, and mobility, and details on additional speakers and session content will be announced sequentially.
