Japan Communications Inc. (JCI, TSE Prime:9424) is pleased to announce that the use of "Mebuku ID," the most secure, reliable, and ease-of-use ID, which utilizes FPoS technology, has commenced in City of Omura, Nagasaki Prefecture, starting March 25th.
JCI has collaborated with Mebuku Ground Corporation (headquartered in Maebashi City, Gunma Prefecture), a public-private partnership company formed by Maebashi City, private enterprises, and universities, to promote the utilization and implementation of Mebuku ID using FPoS technology. Following Maebashi City in Gunma Prefecture and Ebetsu City in Hokkaido, the use of Mebuku ID and the data linkage infrastructure has now begun in Omura City, Nagasaki Prefecture. In this scheme, Mebuku Ground Inc. issues the Mebuku ID, and CONNECT Corporation (headquartered in Omura City, Nagasaki Prefecture), established through public-private collaboration, operates the Omura City portal app ‘Omusubi’ and the digital local currency ‘Yudepi,’ among other initiatives for a better circular community.
The Government of Japan's Digital Agency is creating a catalog of services/systems that support best practice and is strongly promoting the regional expansion of recommended cases through priority adoption funded by the Digital Garden City Nation. In response, the "Digitalization Horizontal/Regional Expansion Promotion Council" has been established to promote the horizontal expansion of exemplary cases of digital implementation in collaboration with administrative agencies, including the Digital Agency. We believe that Mebuku ID and the data linkage infrastructure have an advantage in horizontal deployment as they allow for the joint use of an already established infrastructure.
