Japan Communications Inc (hereafter referred to as JCI) announced that on December 25th, 2014 the “b-mobile VISITOR SIM 1GB Prepaid”, the prepaid SIM card for visitors to Japan, will be made available through distributors such as large electronic retails stores. In cooperation with the government driven Tourism Promotion Act, we will be making the Visitor SIM available to existing b-mobile distributors, domestic and overseas travel agencies, and other distributors such as electronic retail stores so that tourists to Japan can easily procure the SIM while in Japan. We plan to continue expanding our sales channel so that the VISITOR SIM is easily accessible.

The VISITOR SIM was launched on July 2012, for the purpose of providing prepaid SIMs to visitors to Japan. This product was offered directly through our web site and the first of such products be released in Japan.

As a result of having serviced customers that have directly bought the Visitor SIM from us, we have accumulated knowledge on how to deal with problems and needs that arise from using this prepaid SIM. With this knowledge base, we will be firmly supporting our distributors when they start selling the VISITOR SIM.

The VISITOR SIM will now be available through distributors such as large electronic retails stores even after you have landed in Japan.

After purchasing the VISITOR SIM, by setting your APN, you will be able to access the activation page where you will be required to enter your passport information. 5 minutes later, you will be connected to the internet.

Other than the VISITOR SIM, we have products such as the PAYG SIM series which can be found in hotels as well as the Taiwan VISITOR SIM that can be bought in Taiwan before departure to Japan. We will continue to release products according to demand. As the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympics looms ahead and there is much to be done, we at JCI will continue to develop the communication environment for visitors to Japan.
