Japan Communications Inc (hereafter referred to as JCI) will provide the answer to visitors and business persons who find that they do not have access to mobile connectivity upon arrival to Japan. On December 25th, 2014, JCI will be making the “b-mobile PAYG SIM” (hereafter referred to as PAYG SIM) a prepaid SIM available through Kyoto Royal Hotel & Spa (Kyoto, Japan), a part of the Ishin Hotels Group. There will be 2 types; for those that want to make calls as well as connect to the internet, we suggest the “b-mobile PAYG SIM” and for those that only require internet connection, the “b-mobile PAYG Data SIM” will be available.
　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　
Travelers will be able to purchase the PAYG SIM while staying at the hotel and ID confirmation will be completed by presenting your passport when you make your purchase. Once you have purchased the PAYG SIM, you will be able to use your own device to receive phone calls from your friends and family from home*1.

Currently in Japan, there is an urgent need to create an easily accessible mobile communications environment for travelers visiting from abroad. At JCI, we will continue to cooperate with the government driven Tourism Promotion Act by expanding our sales location so that travelers can easily find our SIMs.

*1 Note: that a different phone number will be given with the PAYG SIM and not your original phone number from home
